Silber opens a new Chapter in China

In order to further develop the international markets, the Austrian-Chinese cooperation project for the sophisticated window and door construction of Silber was officially opened on November 12, 2021 in “Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone” in China. This cooperation also marks the beginning of a new chapter in the development of Silber in China. The license partner, Shanghai Symbol Industrial Group Co., Ltd., will manufacture and distribute sophisticated windows and doors as specified by Silber for the Chinese market.

The opening ceremony received great attention and support from all sectors of society. Mr. Markus Wimmer, owner and managing director of Silber Fensterbau GmbH, Mr. Zheng Xiao Zuo, chairman of Shanghai Symbol Industrial Group Co., Ltd., Dr. Andreas Grof, partner of Silber Austria in Shanghai, and Mr. Helmut Rakowitsch, Consul General of the Republic of Austria in Shanghai, had attended the opening ceremony with many guests from society and business.

Mr. Zheng Xiao Zuo, chairman of Symbol and license partner of Silber in China, expressed in his welcome speech that the successful cooperation with the more than 180 years old Austrian brand Silber for premium windows and doors is a new starting point for both sides to achieve the win-win cooperation, which is of vital importance.

Dr. Andreas Grof, partner of Silber Austria in Shanghai, pointed out in his speech that in terms of energy efficiency and environmental protection Silber is one of the world’s leading manufacturers. This project fulfills the dream of his friend Markus Wimmer and him to bring not only know-how for sophisticated windows and doors, but also sustainability and environmental-friendly philosophy to China.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and China, Mr. Helmut Rakowitsch, Consul General of the Republic of Austria in Shanghai, had personally expressed his best wishes for this Austrian-Chinese cooperation project on side. In his speech, he pointed out that the entry of Silber into the Chinese market is a clear sign of the deep friendship and practical cooperation between Austria and China in all fields of economy.

After the opening ceremony, the guests visited Symbol’s state of the art Silber production plant in China to experience the charm of first-class and exquisite workmanship for windows and doors with Austrian know-how.
